Introduction: Exilic Culture in Comparative Perspective

  • Elisenda Marcer

摘要

The first chapter of this book aims to generate a fresh discussion on the concept of exile culture, with a focus on the German exile during the Nazi period and the Hispanic exile in Francoist Spain. It proposes a comprehensive and transnational approach to exile studies, considering linguistic, political, and cultural differences from a transnational perspective. This chapter has a solid theoretical foundation, which endorses a comparative method to demonstrate how it can help provide new perspectives on the study of exile in general and understand the relationship between inner and territorial exiles in the Hispanic (including Catalan) and German contexts. Additionally, the introduction provides a detailed summary of the content of each contribution to the volume, outlining their methodological achievements and providing a historical context to familiarize non-expert readers with the specificities of each exile.
