This chapter focuses on the effort required to deliver the customer experience. The effort is defined by the Scope of the project, the required Activity Chain and the Resource model. The Activity Chain describes all the activities that are necessary to successfully implement the project and obtain the desired results. A suitable Activity Chain requires good mastery of the Industry Key Activity Ingredients and the principles of success in choosing a successful business model. This chapter emphasizes the importance of sustainable profitability, a compelling proposition to the target market, real and easily communicable Benefits, and the need for competitive advantages. The chapter also highlights the significance of making strategic trade-offs, aligning objectives with available resources, and the role of the Resource model in generating resources to satisfy Stakeholders’ Aspirations. Since ISO 56007 focuses on project selection criteria and resource investment compatibility, the content of this chapter can be used to implement ISO 56007 by providing insights into the Effort model and analyzing possible options for generating resources to satisfy Stakeholders’ Aspirations.
