摘要

Antiracist leadership, working toward truly embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion, is based on actions taken that go deeply into the heart of our organizational vision and mission. Such leadership requires a renewed spirituality, one rooted in relationship, in attentive listening and confident speaking, in walking together to shape a common destination. The choices we make will determine the actions we pursue, including a new appreciation for darkness, a dedication to justice, and a reimagining of Christian spiritual traditions, often linked to racist discrimination, as a source of liberation and inspiration instead. Both actions and choices are dependent upon a new way of seeing, one freed from the lens of “race” determining our identities, having seen “race” as the result and product of a racist ideology meant to divide us and legitimate the oppression of many by a powerful few. All these are essential aspects of a spiritual approach that can empower and strengthen our commitment to antiracist leadership.
