Human-Building Interaction for Interactive Cultural Heritage Site
摘要
Direct interaction with historical built environments is often impossible but would increase users’ understanding and meaningful connection to them. This would further contribute to preserving the places’ societal and cultural values. Human-building interaction, a domain within human-computer interaction, researches approaches and design dimensions to transform static built environments into user-centered interactive entities. In this submission, we present the results of a literature survey (N = 34 references) conducted in the ACM Digital Library on “human-building interaction” to identify potentially relevant approaches for direct interaction with cultural heritage sites. The results showed no prior work combined human-building interaction and cultural heritage sites. Yet, we see value in learning from the publications about the participative approaches that could benefit the interaction design. This includes, for example, considering the longevity of built environments versus the short lifespan of systems or the intertwined relationship between people, artifacts, and buildings.
