Uncovering Layers of History Through an Archaeological Excavation Prototype with a Tangible UI
摘要
In this paper, we present our preliminary research on the user experience with an interactive archaeological installation piece. We designed and created a prototype for an interactive archaeological excavation that utilizes tangible tools for interaction and local archaeological content in the UI. The prototype was evaluated with 20 participants, most of whom preferred to use the tangible tools instead of touching the screen with their hand. The concept can be used to create a connection between today’s built environments and the local cultural heritage and archaeology and to appreciate the layers of history.
