Assessing the Sustainability of Spain’s Renewable Energy System
摘要
The development of renewable energy has become an increasingly important issue in addressing the challenges of climate change and sustainable development. In Spain, various regions have been exploring and investing in renewable energy systems. However, the effectiveness of these efforts varies among regions due to differences in geographical, economic, and social factors. To evaluate the performance of renewable energy systems in Spain, this paper presents an analysis with ten parameters using the TOPSIS approach implemented in MATLAB. The research indicates that Castile and León has made significant progress in the renewable energy sector due to its favorable geographical location and proactive policies toward renewable energy. This region has successfully harnessed the potential of renewable energy sources, which have contributed to its high ranking. Conversely, Asturias faces several challenges in promoting renewable energy due to its unfavorable climate conditions and limited investment in this sector. The study’s findings have important implications for policymakers and stakeholders in the renewable energy industry in Spain, as it provides insights into the strengths and weaknesses of renewable energy systems in different regions, identifying areas for improvement and helping to design more effective policies to promote renewable energy.
