TiO2-CeO2 Admixed Photoelectrode for Optimization of Hydrogen Production in Regard to Photoelectrochemical Solar Cell

For a semiconductor septum photoelectrochemical solar cell, we have adjusted nanostructured (ns) TiO2-CeO2 admixed/TiO2 with reference to the ideal photoelectrode area. Preparing an electrode with a large effective area and a higher hydrogen production rate was the major goal. The photoelectrochemical cell with ns-TiO2-CeO2 admixed/Ti photoanode was constructed and characterized. It has geometric areas of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 cm2. It was found that a photoanode area of 1.5 cm2 showed better hydrogen production.
