Constituting New Spaces of Possibilities. How Does Artistic Creation Play with Space(s)

摘要

Chapter 7 (“Constituting New Spaces of Possibilities. How does Artistic Creation Play with Space?”) deals with the way literature handles a question largely debated by Sarti, Citti and Piotrowski, namely the constitution of spaces (the creation of new spaces and their articulation with global space, the conditions of the possibility of various heterogeneous assemblages that rely on the nature of the spaces, and the inventive capacity of the operator who has to bridge them). The literary text is described as a multidimensional space whose constitution relies on a subtle balance between either observing or breaking different types of rules governing both the linguistic system and the literary system (the discursive and the poetic). The emphasis is on the generative process (heterogenesis). Here again specific poems by Ponge, Cummings, Beckett are examined in order to demonstrate what has been theoretically advanced. Deleuze’s analysis of a poem by Gherasim Luca completes the discussion.
