This short guide is applicable to the development and optional classification of dropped object prevention programmes and associated equipment used to control and prevent dropped objects from height, and supports dropped object prevention activities on mobile offshore drilling units, offshore installations, tendering vessels, mobile offshore units and other offshore units and installations. This guide is intended for use in conjunction with the Class specific rules for building and classing mobile offshore units (MOU Rules), the Class specific rules for building and classing offshore installations (Offshore Installations Rules), Class specific rules for building and classing floating production installations (FPI Rules), and the Class specific rules for drilling tender barges, as well as any other applicable Class, Authority, and/or Flag State rules and guides.
