Social Learning, Self-efficacy, and Self-regulated Learning in the Classroom

Albert Bandura (1986, 2002) pioneeredBandura, A. and developed the concept of ‘social cognitive theorySocial cognitive theory’ (initially known as social learning theorySocial learning theory) and the notion of ‘triadic reciprocal causationTriadic reciprocal causation’. He examined the relationship between effective learning, or the ability of students to become self-regulated learners, and the associated three domains affecting students’ learning: personal characteristics, behavioural patterns, and environment.
