摘要

Each research project starts with formulating a good question. What is not known about your subject, but worth knowing? Once you have formulated a good (set of) question(s), you must design experiments to answer it. The correct controls, not just replicates, are essential. The outcome of a good projects can be told as a scientific story. This story must be complete and form a coherent unit. Results are best analyzed as soon as they are obtained, so that the results can be used to adjust the next series of experiments. Expect to also get unexpected results and use these to obtain novel insights.
