Advancements in Providing Quality-of-Service in Cyber-Physical Systems: A Comprehensive Review
摘要
Quality of Service (QoS) awareness is a fundamental aspect of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) to ensure reliable and efficient communication in dynamic and heterogeneous environments. Various QoS-aware schemes have been proposed to address the diverse requirements and challenges of CPS applications, including real-time control, sensor data fusion, and mission-critical operations. This paper presents a comprehensive examination of the challenges and opportunities in achieving QoS within CPS. It outlines the various technical and operational challenges such as heterogeneity and scalability, real-time constraints, resource limitations, communication reliability and security, integration of legacy systems, and dynamic environmental factors. This paper explores emerging trends like machine learning discusses their potential to enhance QoS provisioning in CPS. Furthermore, it outlines future research directions aimed at developing standardized protocols, enhancing resource management strategies, leveraging real-time analytics, and fostering adaptive CPS architectures. By addressing these challenges and embracing emerging technologies, researchers aim to unlock new capabilities and drive innovation in CPS, thereby enabling transformative applications across various domains.
