A Review of AI-Based Approaches for Suspected Fetal Abnormalities

Optimizing the detection of structural anomalies is the goal of effective fetal screening. More parents are now confronted with the decision of whether to terminate a pregnancy as a result of rising rates of congenital anomaly discovery brought on by developments in clinical testing and improved technologies. For the purpose of measuring the diagnostic accuracy for the identification of congenital fetal anomalies before 13–18 weeks of gestation, or as early as possible depending on the specific anomalies, this documentation offers a state-of-the-art review of the pertinent publications. The most prevalent fetal structural anomalies are covered in this article, including chromosomal abnormalities, neurological disorders, congenital heart defects (CHD) face deformation and others. Ultrasonic technology was utilized to assess factors that could potentially impact detection rates. Frequent fetal medicine visits ensure that expectant parents are actively involved in making decisions about their unborn child’s care and health, are well-informed and receive emotional support.
