Real-Time Multi-target Detection and Acquisition System

The need for effective automatic target recognition is critical in modern military operations. However, current capabilities fall short due to difficulties in acquiring realistic targets and limited access to innovative concepts. This paper presents a solution, the “Real-Time Multi-Target Detection and Acquisition System.” The system provides real-time automation of target recognition and acquisition by integrating advanced targeting technologies and sensors. Inspired by Army Design Bureau India's 2023 problem statements, this innovation aims to enhance situational awareness and minimize collateral damage. This project holds the potential to bridge the gap between existing limitations and the desired advancements in military targeting capabilities. The hardware arrangement of the research project is structured by involving the integration of ultrasonic sensors strategically positioned on the designed tank's periphery. This setup facilitates comprehensive 360-degree coverage for target detection. Additionally, servo motors are employed to enable the precise rotation of the sensors and gun pointers, enhancing the system's ability to engage detected targets with accuracy and efficiency. The proposed system presents a pivotal advancement in military targeting capabilities, offering a streamlined approach to target acquisition and engagement in dynamic operational scenarios.
