Visions for the Future: Threats, Responses, and Opportunities

This chapter serves as both a retrospective and prospective exploration of barriers to actualizing a world with accessible abortion. Bartolini and Pope highlight a history of creativity and resilience among abortion seekers and providers and offer visions for a continuation of this work in the future. Specific strategies for mental health clinicians seeking to navigate health technology utilization, clinical documentation, assessing safety in patients self-managing abortion, training a pro-abortion mental health workforce, and centering people who have had abortions are explored.
