The Complex Relationship Between Abortion, Politics, and Religion
摘要
Abortion and the legislative restrictions that can be enacted are often done so under the guise or premise of religious beliefs and an ethical duty to speak for the “unborn.” However, these two bedfellows are quite unlikely and result from a more modern partnership rather than deeply held beliefs. In mono-theistic cultures, the word “abortion” or its concept is not even mentioned in the Bible. Yet, religion is considered to be the shield in which legislation is justified.
