Identification of Hazard Zones Due Mass Movements in the Sierra Norte de Puebla, México

  • Uriel Vera-Cruz

摘要

In 2019, the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) presented an updated national map of landslide susceptibility, an important work to conform the National Atlas of Hazards of Mexico. The mentioned map uses a methodology based on a weighting system of geomechanics, topographic, and land-use factors that simplify the susceptibility calculation. The present work addresses CENAPRED's methodology for a case at minor scale with a series of proposals to change (1) the form we obtain and use the data, (2) the process in which the relative susceptibility is calculated, and (3) the methodology to choose a grid during the division of the control territory and the mapping of the susceptibility, changes that allowed the creation a map with better resolution of the susceptibility zones and that identifies the level of risk in every community of the study area.
