Methods for Assessing the Cutting Ability of Superhard Grinding Wheels
摘要
The chapter presents the classification as well as indirect methods and parameters and direct assessment of the cutting abilitiesCutting ability of superhard grinding wheelsSuperhard grinding wheels (SGW). The group of parameters for the indirect assessment of the cutting ability of grinding wheels include: grinding powerGrinding power, grinding temperatureGrinding temperature, specific grinding energy consumption, vibrations, acoustic emission, grinding efficiencyGrinding efficiency and the grinding indexGrinding index—G. The parameters for direct assessment of the cutting ability of grinding wheels include: roughnessRoughness and waviness of the grinded surface, stereometric parametersStereometric parameters of CSGWCutting surface of the grinding wheel (CSGW), stresses and microhardnessMicrohardness of surface layerSurface layer (SL) (SL), macro- and micro-wear of the grinding wheel, sticking of CSGW and grinding indices of testers. Examples of research results regarding the assessment of the cutting ability of superhard grinding wheelsCutting ability of superhard grinding wheel based on selected assessment parameters are presented. The research results include, among others: assessment of CSGWAssessment of CSGW gumming up using the X-ray method, CSGW macro- and microgeometryMacro- and microgeometry of CSGW by grinding wheel profilography, cutting abilities using a two-parameter external tester grinding method, and economic aspects of assessing electrochemical dressing of superhard grinding wheelsSuperhard grinding wheels (SGW).
