Treatment of Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss with Systemic Corticosteroids
摘要
After the introduction in the 1970s of the use of corticosteroids in autoimmune diseases [1, 2], the first papers that applied them in idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) were presented in the 1980s [3–6]. Of these, it was the famous clinical trial published by Wilson et al. [5] in 1980 that led to their widespread use in ISSNHL [7, 8], accepted as the gold standard treatment ever since [9–12].
