Influence of Color on Information Perception Under AR Simulated Lunar Surface Environment

At present, China, the United States, Russia and Europe are continuously exploring the moon, especially the development and development of spacecraft, in order to look forward to the establishment of a lunar base and human activities on the lunar surface in the future [1]. As an adjunct technology in this process, augmented reality (AR) is a display mechanism that combines real and virtual world content on a single screen [2]. However, current AR technology is not sufficient to function efficiently in practical operations. One of the key issues is the legibility of the text displayed via AR head-mounted displays [3]. Therefore, it can be concluded that the readability of text on AR head-mounted display can be improved by selecting colors that are suitable for the environment, so as to promote the in-depth application of AR in the aerospace field. This paper aims to explore the influence of AR symbols and text colors on astronaut information capture efficiency under simulated lunar surface environment, and put forward suggestions for improvement of color selectio, so as to guide the AR interface color design of spacesuit helmets for extravehicular operations. A total of 10 men and 10 women participated in the experiment to simulate the lunar surface environment by wearing AR glasses. In the experiment, two kinds of judgment pictures of symbol and text were set, the recognition speed and accuracy of participants were collected, and the experimental data were processed with the help of data analysis software to get the corresponding data map. The results show that the experimental data of yellow and blue-green are more prominent. Green visibility is strong but the judgment accuracy rate is low. The white indicators are more balanced but not prominent. Red, blue, magenta indicators are relatively poor. The preliminary conclusion of the experimental results is that the colors with better recognition effect on the lunar surface are cyan and yellow. All these colors can be well identified and understood, and can be used as the color to display key information. Other colors can be used for auxiliary information display as needed. This paper provides the basis for the design and use of AR color of extravehicular space suit in the manned space flight project.
