Women’s Empowerment in Africa Through Industry 4.0
摘要
This research investigates the dual nature of Industry 4.0 as it impacts women in Africa, focusing on its challenges and opportunities. The study specifically explores barriers such as gender gaps in digital skills, cultural and sociological obstacles, and limited opportunities for women in leadership and representation roles. Concurrently, it highlights Industry 4.0’s positive prospects for women, including improved access to education and training, opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation, the feasibility of remote work, and collaboration platforms. To navigate these challenges and leverage these opportunities, the study suggests interventions such as bridging the gender digital divide, altering societal norms, increasing women’s participation in leadership, and reinforcing educational and training programmes. The significance of empowering African women in Industry 4.0 is emphasized for maximizing their potential, promoting inclusive economic growth, and striving towards an equitable and prosperous future.
