Italian Pentecostals in the Public Sphere
摘要
In Italy Pentecostals have had a difficult relationship with the public sphere. This has been due to the opposition and social exclusion of which they were victims and also due to their substantial disinterest in political and social issues. Even on a legal level they have always had great difficulty in having their rights recognized. The supremacy of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy, the privileges it enjoys and a system of public communication that accompanies this hegemony tend to marginalize religious minorities. For this reason, despite being one of the most significant religious minorities in Italy, Pentecostals have been unable to find adequate spaces for expressing their views and for being present in the public sphere.
