System Evaluation of Team and Winner Prediction in One Day International Matches with Scenario Based Questionnaire

Cricket is unquestionably among the utmost widespread sports in the world. Team prediction, winner prediction, umpire decision review system, and fantasy cricket league are common fundamental problems in cricket. Many researchers are working on the issue of team and winner prediction in cricket. They are trying to predict match or tournament outcomes. The researchers also try to predict player performance during a match or team selection based on current form, statistics, and player fitness. The existing work done by researchers has considered a limited time for players and team performance evaluation maximum of five years. The parameters for evaluation are also limited to a few in numbers. In this paper, we have used all the possible parameters and derived more with appropriate weights to the existing ones. We also used a longer time of 10 years for team and player consistency evaluation. Our extermination has performed team and winner prediction based on the scenario-based questionnaire. The questionnaire has been prepared and shared with the people for results and team prediction. People’s opinions are compared with the actual outcome of that match and the player selected. The maximum accuracy of 94.91% is obtained for winner prediction from the responses received. In team prediction, for batters, bowlers, all-rounders (batting and bowling), and wicketkeeper selection the accuracy of 93.95%, 96.18%, 91.09%, 91.41%, and 89.81% are obtained, respectively.
