Police in England stopped Paul McCartney on June 14, 1963 for driving over the speed limit. Because Paul had two previous speeding convictions, Alderman W.O. Hanford reprimanded him: “It is time you were taught a lesson.” The court fined Paul 25 British pounds and prohibited him from driving for a year. During his driving ban, Paul used a chauffeur to travel. On his way to John Lennon’s house to work on Beatle’s music, Paul asked the chauffeur how he was doing. “Oh, working hard, working eight days a week,” the chauffeur replied. The Beatles released the song “Eight Days a Week” in December 1964 in the United Kingdom. In March 1965, the song went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 US charts. The chauffeur did not receive a writing credit.
