BIM for Post Modern Lexicon. The Representative Question of Architectonic Language from America to Italian Local Replications

This study deals with the redevelopment of buildings built in the last decades of the Twentieth Century, which can be defined in “post-modernism” style. Communication became for those years, an architectural theme superimposed and abstract by function and structural needs, with abstract “architectural elements” in a hyperbolic way with respect to function. It was possible a parallelism between the American architecture and the architect Gian Carlo Leoncilli Massi, one of the exponents of Post Modern in Italy, an author present in the Umbrian territory. In particular it was analyzed the Sports Hall in Bastia Umbra. It is a paradigmatic case: a methodological workflow was developed, starting from the survey through a laser scanner and a subsequent “as built” modelling of the artifact through a BIM methodology. Within the software, it was possible to use the EdilClima plugins: shaping the stratigraphies, the thermal system and the lighting currently present, in order to design a series of redevelopment strategies, to preserve its language.
