Generative AI-Language Models in Didactics and Communication for Inclusiveness
摘要
In the future, the use of large language models offers the potential to support people in all activities and areas of life, both privately and professionally. People who experience disabilities encounter far greater barriers in everyday life than people without disabilities. Large language models could break down language barriers in the future and also be an additional driver for inclusion since they enable people who experience disabilities to gain new access to all areas of social life and give them the opportunity to participate more. They can also enable more individualized learning in education, which facilitates inclusive teaching. Nevertheless, large language models also carry the risk of discriminating against this group of people in particular, for example by not recognizing them or systematically excluding people who experience disabilities. Therefore, when developing and maintaining large language models, all ethical considerations must be taken into account to prevent bias, discrimination, and harassment. Since training data historically includes data on discrimination against people who experience disabilities, it is necessary that more up-to-date data is collected from this heterogeneous group of people in order to obtain algorithms that enable a reliable mapping of minorities in our society.
