An Approach to Restore the Proper Functioning of Embedded Systems Due to Adverse Effects

摘要

The paper proposes an approach to restore the proper functioning of specialized microprocessor-based control systems at the element base level. This approach includes two stages. The first stage involves assessing the technical state of the microprocessor system by applying existing control methods in order to identify faults, as well as localizing faults by applying methods of testing and functioning diagnostics of digital devices. At the second stage, the proper functioning of the microprocessor control system is restored by reconfiguring its internal structure at the level of logical elements. The implementation of the proposed approach will increase fault tolerance (cyber resilience) of the embedded system – the ability to maintain operability after failure of one or more of its components due to adverse effects, including cyber-attacks.
