Parameters of the Shielded Microstrip Line

This chapter aims to define the key parameters of the shielded symmetrical microstrip line, including the characteristic impedance, wavelength, effective dielectric permittivity, and other quantities related to the propagation of the electromagnetic field. In the first part of the chapter, the formulas obtained using the quasi-static approximation of the electromagnetic field from microstrip structures are presented; in the second part, the formulas obtained using the quantities provided by the electrodynamic analysis of the field are listed. This method was widely presented in Chap. 1 . Finally, the frequency domains that are the object of the use of the two approaches are established.
