Addressing Societal Challenges with the Help of AI from Student Teams at IdeaSquare, CERN
摘要
The current chapter illustrates, with some selected examples, how AI might be used to advance reaching Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is discussed in the context of the Challenge Based Innovation (CBI) methodology developed at CERN IdeaSquare for interdisciplinary student teams. Five related AI student projects are described, incorporating both the research methodologies used by scientific organizations such as CERN, as well as user-experience driven approach which is essential in addressing SDG challenges. Finally, some thoughts are shared about the use of AI in the hands of next-generation innovators educated at places like CERN.
