Overcoming Rebound Effects: A Process Blueprint for Circular Systems Design
摘要
In this study, we develop a process blueprint for circular systems design. While existing tools and frameworks abound for circular product and business model design, a notable gap exists in integrating these two domains. A more systemic view is highly relevant because the mismatched design of products and business models leads to ecologically harmful rebound effects. We employ design science methodology involving 31 expert interviews and a workshop with a design academy. We advance theory by championing circular systems design, providing a process blueprint, and addressing the critical issue of circular economy rebound. This contribution marks a substantive step forward in accelerating the implementation of circular strategies and addressing a fundamental theoretical concern related to the circular economy.
