Academic Manager’s Path: From Connections to Disconnections
摘要
We explore and deepen in this chapter the following elements of the cauldron presented in Chapter 2 : Connecting to management; Maturing as a manager; Disconnecting from management; Transition Zones; and Dealing with oneself. These parts are in the center of the cauldron. We present the research findings and some managerial implications for aspects such as previous experiences, connections before management, learning through pain and mistakes, interacting with information systems and management methodologies, knowing through reflection, sharing and dialoguing, dealing with time, dealing with humility and with emotions, concerns about succession, managing to detach, and dealing with the return to teaching.
