摘要

This chapter highlights the importance of addressing social determinants of health through programs aimed at increasing diversity within the workforce for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to achieve equitable healthcare outcomes for all individuals. Health disparities and inequities persist among underserved populations, making it imperative to enhance diversity within the healthcare workforce to provide culturally competent care and improve health outcomes. This chapter presents an overview of programs designed to increase diversity within the APRN workforce, including recruitment and retention strategies, education and training enhancements, collaborative partnerships, research and data collection efforts, and advocacy for policy changes. By incorporating these initiatives, healthcare systems can bridge the gaps in access and quality of care, empowering underserved communities and reducing health disparities.
