摘要

Addressing the epidemics of intimate partner violence and HIV that disproportionately affect Black women in the U.S. requires innovative solutions and authentic partnerships between researchers and the communities they serve. Strong partnerships can inform interventions, programs, policies, and clinical and research engagement that prioritize Black women’s cultural and social life experiences. Using strategic communications among stakeholders should include critical steps that can bring awareness and execution of actions that transform health and advance equity for Black women. In this chapter, we discuss community-engaged approaches using strategic communications in two research studies focused on promoting safety and health among Black women.
