Shattering the Silence – An Introduction to Exploring Developmental Trauma Among Offending Populations
摘要
Developmental trauma is a pervasive issue within offending populations, yet it remains largely unrecognized within the justice system. This chapter aims to highlight the significance of recognizing and addressing developmental trauma among offenders, with the objective of promoting trauma-informed approaches and reducing recidivism rates. Through an in-depth exploration of current research, case studies, and trauma-informed practices, this chapter seeks to elevate awareness and understanding of developmental trauma, bridging the gap between trauma and criminal justice fields. By advocating for policy changes, enhancing knowledge among professionals, and promoting rehabilitation strategies, this chapter aims to pave the way for a more compassionate and effective justice system.
