Design of Interactive Digital Virtual Display Application for Chinese Heritage Traditional Herbal Medicine Culture

The project focuses on designing a platform using Unity3D technology to preserve intangible cultural heritage, emphasizing the pharmacological efficacy and processing of herbal treatments in traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine plays a crucial role in cultural continuity and emotional confront, yet its digitization is confronted with the complexity of its theoretical framework, insufficient public awareness, and the neglect of cultural elements during its propagation. In response, the research team has engineered an interactive application that transposes the herbal wisdom cataloged in the “Bencao Gangmu” into a digital milieu. This application’s distinctiveness lies in its fusion of time-honored medicinal culture with digital innovation. Furthermore, the design posits a new framework for cultural inheritance that effectively simplifies and disseminates the complex theories of Chinese medicine and herbal knowledge through digital means to the general public. The application establishes a conduit that intricately connects traditional Chinese medicinal culture with contemporary society, offering an educational, accessible, and experiential platform, that serves as an innovative exemplar for the digital preservation and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
