Studying the Usability of the Yunlin Puppet Theater Website
摘要
Puppetry is part of Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage. Passed down from generation to generation, it has become a performing art form that carries historical, religious, and traditional values. Yunlin Puppetry Theater is located in the birthplace of puppetry, and it is an important venue for inheriting puppetry culture. The theater’s website contains articles and photos documenting the history of puppetry culture and this venue. Puppetry is facing a transformation and is expected to become more aligned with modern trends. From traditional stages to online platforms, website usability will be the key to understanding and promoting puppetry and its venues. However, there is currently no review of existing Yunlin puppetry. Drama culture should conduct usability research on the website. This study aims to: 1) test the usability of the existing Yunlin Puppet Show website using the SUS (System Usability Scale) and interview data; 2) analyze the website’s usability based on the results; 3) propose a design basis for modifying the website based on the test results. This study’s research methods were as follows: 1) collecting information on the Yunlin Puppet Theater website; 2) recruiting users to participate in the test; 3) collecting user feedback and making recommendations for improvement. This research aims to improve the usability of the Yunlin Puppet theater website. Through this usability test, we can provide people with a better user experience and enable them to visit the physical venue after browsing the website. To gain a deeper understanding of how various age groups utilize this website, we will expand the collection of user feedback. We expect that design researchers and government departments can continue to optimize the website based on the user feedback recommendation from this study to enhance the user experience.
