摘要

Currently, derived from several factors the world population is ageing at an increasing rate. Where a large part of elderly people, who live in social isolation, tend not to have access to technology, thus being highly info excluded. All these factors reinforce the feeling of insecurity and loneliness. It becomes a challenge to improve the quality of life of those who still have some autonomy and are still able to live in their homes. The Internet of Things presents itself as one of the technological paradigms with the greatest potential to enable technological solutions to solve these problems, mainly because its main feature is the ability to integrate information technology with physical objects present in everyday life. The proposed solution allows the creation of intelligent environments, in common dwellings, which monitor and control various parameters of the residence, as well as the elderly themselves, from their physical activity to vital parameters. As this is a non-intrusive system, one of its main advantages is that it does not require technological knowledge on the part of senior users. The proposed solution was tested, in real environment, where the results obtained were quite satisfactory, allowing us to conclude that besides increasing the quality of life and allowing greater autonomy to the elderly, it gives caregivers and family members a sense of security and permanent monitoring.
