Connectivity Patterns in Alzheimer Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia Patients Using Graph Theory

Alzheimers’s Disease (AD) analisis is a high relevant topic in neuroscience nowadays. Stamm et al. studied for the first time functional connectivity in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) throughtout graph theoretical analysis. After that, a large number of scientists have studied AD using graph theory. Different indexes were computed such as Path Length, Clustering Coefficient, Small World, Global and Local Efficiency, etc. In this study, we focus in certain indexes trying to identify the differences in physiological connections among AD patients, Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) patients, and healthy controls using graph theoretical analysis. Our primary objective is to discern whether certain cortical areas exhibit differential connectivity patterns across the three groups, thereby providing valuable insights into the unique neuropathological signatures of each condition.
