Agricultural Waste for Biofertilizers and Soil Amendments
摘要
This chapter delves into the transformative potential of utilizing agricultural waste materials for sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices. It begins by introducing the various types of agricultural waste, encompassing crop residues, organic matter, and byproducts from agro-industries, which often pose disposal challenges and environmental concerns. These materials are shown to be abundant in vital elements, including potassium, phosphate, and nitrogen, along with organic matter that can enhance soil structure and microbial diversity, thus making them valuable resources for enhancing soil fertility and plant nutrition. It highlights the environmental advantages of utilizing agriculture waste as biofertilizers and soil amendments, such as the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve soil carbon sequestration, and minimize nutrient runoff into water bodies, thereby contributing to sustainable agriculture.
