Evidence-Based Diversity: Lessons from Beyond the Armed Forces

Drawing on lessons from beyond the militaryMilitary, the chapter identifies four principlesPrinciples of evidence-basedEvidence-based diversityDiversity: first, the importance of evaluating interventionsInterventions; second, the merit of taking an evidence-based approach to interventionInterventions design; third, careful identification and articulation of the problem at hand using robust data; and fourth, the value of trialing interventionsInterventions to ensure their effectiveness. The chapter concludes by arguing that these principlesPrinciples could be adopted in interventionsInterventions designed to improve inclusionInclusion in the armed forcesArmed forces.
