Can Physics Explain Physics? Anthropic Principles and Transcendental Idealism

摘要

In this chapter, I argue that contemporary physics, understood as a natural science that’s committed to the Standard Models of cosmology and particle physics, can explain itself only if it supplements the Standard Models by affirming a philosophically defensible and scientifically respectable version of The Anthropic Principle that’s also equivalent with a suitably weak version of Kant’s metaphysics of transcendental idealism.
