The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility Studies in Textile Companies and a Case Study: Ozanteks Tekstil Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Studies

Today, sustainability studies are very important for companies to stay one step ahead of their competitors during intense competition and branding processes. Sustainability studies are process studies that include corporate social responsibility as well as innovative practices. In its most general lines, corporate social responsibility is to emphasize that companies make plans by taking into account all economic, environmental, social, and ethical factors, protect the welfare of the society, evaluate the social effects of activities, and help in developing human values. The notion of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an extension of managerial ethics, and it is the responsibility of the management to make decisions in a way that will benefit the welfare and benefit of all stakeholders such as employees, customers, and society. In this chapter, information regarding corporate social responsibility studies, efforts, approaches, and implementations in textile companies are given. Moreover, at the end of this chapter, a case study about Ozanteks Tekstil company’s corporate social responsibility studies and efforts is explained.
