Maya City of Chichen Itza

Unlike many Maya cities, Chichen Itza was never totally lost; the major buildings remained in full view and were visited often as a special sacred space and a pilgrimage destination. The many remarkable buildings were over shadowed by the perfectly preserved El Castillo which dominates the landscape. The Temple of Kukulcan embodies symbolic numbers and much astronomical information in its mathematic design and alignment with five cenote. Chichen Itza hap.
