Systems Thinking and Sustainability Education

This chapter provides an overview of the current state of systems thinking and sustainability education in business schools. Systems thinking and sustainability education in business schools is a critical and timely topic that requires a comprehensive and integrative approach. This chapter provides an overview of the current literature and practices on the topic, as well as a conceptual framework and evaluation criteria for designing and assessing effective and innovative programs. The chapter reviews the articles and proposes a four-dimensional model of learning based on cognitive, affective, behavioral, and systemic aspects. The chapter also suggests a set of criteria based on the learning outcomes and impacts of critical thinking, systems literacy, and ethical decision-making. The chapter contributes to the advancement of the field by synthesizing insights from diverse sources and proposing a holistic and dynamic approach to systems thinking and sustainability education in business schools.
