摘要

Visual electrodiagnostic tests (EDTs) have been employed for over 4 decades to assess and monitor visual pathway function in glaucoma patients and to exclude retinal disease and/or non-glaucomatous visual pathway dysfunction. EDTs provide functional information on the visual pathway compared to the various ophthalmic imaging modalities that provide structural information and the psychophysical procedures reflecting behavioral function. The visual stimuli and recording techniques used in EDTs continuously evolve to improve their reliability, reproducibility, sensitivity, and specificity in detecting early ganglion cell damage associated with glaucoma.
