摘要

Michael Porter introduced several concepts related to business strategy and how the latter can be attained. The strategy roughly can be defined as achieving a “competitive advantage,” which is one of the concepts he introduced. Additionally, he introduced the concept of “fit,” which could be roughly understood as aligning various internal and external activities to achieve a chosen competitive advantage. This paper investigates the potential usability of enterprise modeling for analyzing the attainment of “fit” or designing enterprise activities to achieve it. This is a work-in-progress paper; we focus only on the service enterprises and use only one enterprise modeling technique, a so-called Fractal Enterprise Model. At the same time, our final goal is to develop a methodology for using enterprise modeling for analyzing and designing activities so that they fit the chosen strategy of achieving and sustaining a competitive advantage.
