摘要

Infectious disease spread modeling plays a pivotal role in public health planning and emergency response. However, traditional models often face challenges relating to data integrity, transparency, and efficiency. This paper addresses these limitations by introducing a novel approach using blockchain technology and smart contracts for storing medical records and modeling disease spread. Our contribution is twofold. Firstly, we propose a blockchain-based system for storing medical records, enhancing data integrity and transparency. Secondly, we utilize smart contracts to generate Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) representing unique instances of infectious disease cases. We also implement our proof-of-concept on four Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-supported platforms: Celo, Fantom, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain. Through extensive testing, we evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each platform in terms of cost, speed, and efficiency.
