Debridement should be considered an integral part of the process of caring for a patient with a wound. To eliminate one of the main dangers associated with conservative surgical debridement is to disseminate to all nurses that before performing any type of debridement, the healing potential of the wound by assessing the blood flow is critical. Then, to promote the best practices to the healthcare institutions is essential to adopt regulations by nurses’ authorization to the conservative debridement after an optimal education in the nursing program.
