Arterial and Mixed Leg Ulcer

  • Monira Nou Howaldt

摘要

Arterial and mixed ulcers account for around 20–30% of leg ulcers. Arterial ulcers are secondary to the presence of peripheral arterial disease of the lower limbs, often linked to atherothrombosis. Mixed ulcers are associated with venous insufficiency. Diagnosis is based not only on clinical features, but also on vascular explorations. The prognosis for healing depends on the severity of arterial ischemia: in the case of arterial ulcers, revascularization is the reference treatment, whereas in the case of mixed ulcers, the choice of revascularization will depend on the severity of arterial insufficiency and must be weighed against venous insufficiency, which may require the use of appropriate venous compression and targeted phlebological treatment.
