Calciphylaxis
摘要
Calciphylaxis is a rare cause of skin ischemia and necrosis with an estimated 6-month mortality rate of 57% [1, 2]. Although the exact pathogenesis remains unclear, calcification of dermal and subcutaneous capillaries and arterioles plays an integral role, as suggested by the histology [3]. End-stage renal disease is the main risk factor [4]. Since therapeutic modalities are extrapolated from observational retrospective studies, case series, and expert opinion, management is yet to be standardized [5, 6].
